Samurai Helmet - Kabuto No 4

Tetsu Zunari vermilion kabuto and hanpo - Early Edo period

A rich vermilion lacquered kabuto, featuring gracefully flared fukigaeshi and multi-plate shikoro with indigo-green silk lacing.
Please note that the shikoro of the kabuto is constructed from five smooth, solid iron plates, while the throat guard (tare) of the hanpō is made using kiritsuke kozane, imitating individual scales. However, both the shikoro and the tare are tightly laced in the same kebiki-odoshi style, though they differ slightly in odoshi colour due to aging.
