The Supraśl River is a beautiful and unspoiled river with meanders, formerly known as Sprząślą. It begins in Podlasie, in the swamps near the village of Topolany, and stretches for 102 kilometers before it flows into the Narew River.
In early spring, after the snow-abundant winter, the river overflows, creating vast pools in the vicinity of Supraśl and Studzianki - all to the delight of migrating birds in this period. In the last week of March, cranes, storks, swans, migratory geese, ducks and many other species come to the backwaters.
The Supraśl River flows along the southern borders of the meadows that are part of our agritourism. The meandering peninsula and 220 meters of coastline provide a great opportunity for riverside walks, relaxing rest on the deck chairs or fishing.
In nearby Supraśl, several canoe rentals operate from spring (May) to autumn. Canoeing during the day or at night with torches, individually or in a group, is a great opportunity to get to know nature closely and visit the area.
Podlaska Amazonia - the Supraśl river valley
There are numerous hiding places on the shore and in the current: fascines, roots, branches, fallen trees. All this gives the fish a perfect shelter and a feeding place. Fish species occurring in the Supraśl river are: roach, pike, chub, bleak, bream, carp, grass carp (sporadically), asp, barbel, ide, cross, silver crucian, tench, grayling, burbot, perch, pig (sporadically), zander, catfish, pike, rudd, eel. Due to the very clean water, good oxygenation and relatively fast current, the river also has brown trout.
