This is an example of the Edo period craftsmanship masterpiece - A tetsu sabiji roku-ji-ni-ken nami-suji kabuto* (helmet bowl with 62 wavy ribs) signed insight with the inscription: Myochin Muneyasu saku, Tenpo 14, mizunoto-nen, hachigatsu kichiijitsu, dating the pieceto August 1843 and attributing it to the renowned armourer Myochin Muneyasu.


The fukigaeshi is covered with leather in the Kaga style, and family crest (mon) decorations. The helmet is accompanied by a menpo mask from the mid-Edo period, matching the ensemble in colour, texture, and odoshi lacing.

The kabuto is accompanied by an NKBKHK Koshu Tokubetsu Kicho / Class A Specially Valuable certificate, confirming its authenticity and outstanding value as a collector's piece.
