An exibition of our Samurai Armour is planned on 12-22 December 2025 in Warsaw Poland. This exhibition will showcase samurai armour and martial accessories from the distinctive Collection of Wiktoria and Adam Jurgilewicz, all unified by the dragonfly motif. Helmets (kabuto) are crowned with maedate — front crests — in the form of dragonflies. The motif also appears on jingasa (war hats), sangu (armour for the arms and legs), chainmail shirts, command vests (jinbaori), individual armour components, and weaponry, creating a cohesive visual and symbolic narrative deeply rooted in samurai aesthetics and spirit.

The Akitsu-shima Collection — named after this ancient poetic term for Japan — revives the spirit of these legends through exceptional craftsmanship and thematic unity. The armours on display are more than historical artefacts ; they are living testaments to a world where symbol, spirit, and martial beauty formed an indivisible whole. In that world, the dragonfly was never merely an insect — it was the very soul of the warrior.
